It will conduct common written test for selection of candidates for the course of PGDBF (post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance). Syndicate bank PGDBF 2018 how to prepare

Let us first discuss eligibility criteria.

All those who have passed their graduation/ engineering in any stream from any recognized university with not less than 60% marks (55% for SC ST and PWD) are eligible to apply for the same.

So first ensure that you are eligible before you apply for these vacancies.

Let us move to preparation tips. First understand the pattern of the exam.

The exam will be conducted online. There will be 250 questions in all. 200 questions will be from objective type test and 50 marks question will be for descriptive English test. The pattern of the exam are as under:

  1. English test for 50 marks
  2. Reasoning test for 50 marks
  3. Quantitative aptitude test for 50 marks
  4. General awareness for 50 marks

Descriptive test: it will be for 50 marks. Questions will be asked from General English comprehension ability like Essay, Précis, and answering questions of unseen passages.

Let us come to the syllabus:

English language:

Syllabus will be the same as it is for the IBPS PO and other bank PO examination. The level of English will be that of Graduation or its equivalent. Questions will be asked from fillers, cloze test, sentence re arrangement and sentence error correction and error detections. There may be modified and morphed questions types from the above subjects.

Reasoning section:

This will be moderate to difficult in complexity. Questions will be asked from circular seating arrangement, line arrangement, tabular arrangement, floor based arrangement, coding and decoding, machine language encoding, data sufficiency and reasoning and assertion based questions

Quantitative Aptitude test:

It will be tough to moderate. A few question may be easier than the others but overall exam will be difficult for reasoning and intelligent section. Questions will be asked from General mathematics DI (line diagram, bar graph etc), Approximations, simplifications, sequence and series based etc.

There will be Miscellaneous based questions from Profit loss, CI and SI, partnership, Probability and quadratic equations.

General awareness:

Prepare for both Banking terms and concepts as well as the Current affairs for at least last 4 months. This will be enough to score good marks in this subject.

Descriptive test:

The descriptive test performance may enhance your overall performance in the exam. It is for 50 marks and good writing skills will fetch you more marks in the examination.
