SSC CGL Tier 2 exam strategy 2016 Preparation tips

Bankers Adda SSC CGL Tier II exam strategy 2016 for English and Quant.Staff selection commission had earlier released a notification for the recruitment of candidates to the post of CGL under SSC recruitment and this time the notification was released late as compared to other years. The reason being the online examination which was conducted for the first time. This year SSC has conducted online exam for the tier I and now it is preparing to conduct online exam for tier II.

The SSC CGL Exam pattern of the exam remains the same and only the mode of examination has been changed. This is to bring more impartiality in the selection process. Also the number of posts this year has been reduced dratistically and there are only about 3500 posts probably the lowest till now in all SSC recruitment. Candidates who are willing to appear for tier II examination need to know what type of questions are being asked in the examination and they have to prepare them for the same. Here we have discussed English section and Quant section which will be the main phase and these two sections will be included in the examination.

SSC CGL tier II 2016 English section preparation

Candidates need to know that grammar is very important to pass English section in SSC. A lot of questions are asked only from the grammar section. Candidates will be required to be well aware with the details of grammar and working. They must solve a lot of questions from grammar and English section to be comfortable at the examination. there will be 2 hours of tier for English section and the total marks will be 200. There will be negative marking of 0.25 in the exam and candidates will be required to qualify the examination with good marks. Some of the areas from where the questions are generally asked are as under:

  1. Error Detection- 20 Q
  2. Fill in the Blanks- 10 Q
  3. Jumbled Paragraph- 20 Q
  4. Voice: Active/Passive-20
  5. Narration: Direct/Indirect Speech -25
  6. Cloze Test- 25 Q
  7. Comprehension- 30 Q
  8. Sentence Improvements – 20 Q
  9. Idioms/Phrases 10
  10. One Word Substitution- 10
  11. Antonym/Synonym/Spellings -10

Candidates should focus on above sections and they should trry each of the individual parts which have been given above. All those who will pass the written exam will be called next for the phase 3 of the examination which will be the final phase, Candidates should try to score good marks and they should maintain accuracy in the examaintion.

SSC CGL tier 2 Quant section strategy

Candidates should know that there will be 100 questions in Quantitative awareness and time allowed will be 2 hours. Candidates will have to solve these questions within the time which will be provided. During the time, they can choose any question put of the given 100 question and they can solve it. They have to keep in mind that negative marking will be there and 0.5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer given by the candidates.

Candidates need to know that one of the important sections for preparation is the geometry section from which maximum number of questions are asked. This will be followed by trigonometry and arithmetic and candidates should focus on all these sections in the examination. Questions will be asked from the below subjects/ part as under.

1.Geometry-(co-ordinate, mensuration, triangle, circle and polygons)-25Q

2.Algebra- 11-13

3.Trigonometry- 12Q

4.Arithmetic- (Percentage, Average, Ration, Allegation and mixture, S.I and C.I., Speed distance and time, time and work)- 36-41Q

5.Number system-5Q

6.D.I.- 6-9 Q

also there will be Data interpretation which will be same as that of IBPS Banks and candidates can solve these questions easily. Candidates should try to maintain accuracy in the exam and they should work on those areas in which they are weak. All those who will pass tier II of the exam will be selected next for the tier III as the last phase and after this they will be finally selected for the posts based on their preference and merit list.
