India post payment bank preparation 2016 tips and study materials reference books for prelims /mains .India post has started its network of payment banks and a lot of candidates have applied for the post through online mode. Earlier the ministry of IT and communication have decided to convert the saving bank account of India post into the small payment bank and a lot of candidates have applied for it.
Currently the vacancy has been decided for various posts and it has been released. Now the payment banks are operative in the India post network and candidates have been invited to appear for the examination through the recruitment process. Here are some of the tips which candidates need to follow in order to pass the examination. It will take more time for candidates to clear the examination. India post payment bank will conduct prelim exam which will be the first phase and after this the mains exam will be followed. The pattern of prelim exam and mains exam is same as that if IBPS PO and candidates will be required to learn the pattern of the exam first which is the first phase towards understanding the examination. Here are some tips which candidates can follow for the exam.

Candidates who are going to appear in the exam should first understand the pattern of prelim exam and mains exam which are given as under.
Prelim exam pattern
There will be 100 questions in prelim exam. The paper will be conducted online on computer. There will be negative marking and candidates should take care of the negative marking. They should try to maintain accuracy in the exam though it is not possible always as you want to solve more number of questions. Pattern of the exam is given as under
- English section for 30 marks
- Reasoning section for 35 marks
- Quantitative awareness section for 35 marks
Total marks will be 100 and time will be 1 hour. There is no separate time for each of the sections. Candidates should try to solve these questions first.
Pattern of mains exam
All those who will qualify prelim exam will be selected next for the mains examinations. Mains exam will be the most important phase and marks obtained by candidates in mains exam will be used to call them for final selection list. Pattern of mains exam is
- English for 40 marks
- Reasoning section for 50 marks
- Quantitative aptitude for 50 marks
- General awareness for 40 marks
- Computer awareness for 20 marks
Total test will be for 200 marks. There will be no descriptive paper. Total time for the test will be 2 hours. Candidates can allocate time for each section based on their preparation and strategy.
How to prepare for IPPB exam 2016
Candidates should know that they should start their preparation with prelim exam. They should practice English, reasoning and math as much as possible.
This will be very important phase and candidates should not ignore this. There will be questions from
- Reading comprehension
- Error correction’idioms and phrase and substitutions
- Error detection/ error spotting
- Cloze test
- Fill in the blanks (double fillers)
Candidates should prepare all of these sections well. They have to improve their vocabulary in the exam else they would not be able to qualify the exam. You can allocate 20 minutes of time for English section based on your preparation.
Math aptitude test:
This is one of the important sections and in mains exam it will be for 50 marks. You should try to focus on the below topics and practice these topics to improve your Math. If you are not clear with the basics we would suggest you first understand the basics of math and after this start solving questions to improve your weak areas. Topics to focus in the exam are
- Number system
- Linear equations
- Sequence and series/ error in series etc
- Profit and loss
- Ratio and proportions
- Mixture and allegations
- SI and CI
- Speed and distance
- Mensuration based on plane figures
- Mixed type of questions
Mixed typeof questions will be asked from statement based generally.
This is also very important and candidates should understand that it is very important. Questions will be asked from
- sitting arrangement
- Coding and decoding questions
- Machine language encoding
- Floor based puzzles
- Relationship based puzzles
- Direction based testing
- Reasoning and assertion
You can allocate 25 minutes for this section in prelim exam.
