IBPS Clerk 2019 Exam Preparation Tips

Upcoming Recruitment 2019 ibps clerk details .IBPS each year releases a notification for the recruitment of candidates to the post of clerk and lot of candidates apply for the post each year. In fact more than those applying for the post of PO. IBPS will hold online examination for the recruitment of candidates to the post of PO. First the prelim exam will be conducted and this will be followed by mains examination. Candidates who will qualify prelim test will be called for the mains exam. So you need to qualify the prelim first. So let us start our preparation for the clerk examination. Strategy for passing the exam is more important than just preparing for the examination as there is a lot of competition in banking sector now. Also due to the lesser number of vacancy in these sectors. Over the time more competition and complexity have been added to the job.

IBPS Clerk prelim preparation 2019

IBPS will soon releases IBPS Clerk VII notification along with IBPS PO notification and all those candidates who have been looking for the job now are searching for the examination. Candidates should visit the official website to download notification and they must check the details and after this they should apply online for the post. First let us understand the pattern of both prelim and mains examination. Candidates will be required to first qualify prelim test and after this they will be enrolled in mains examination. So you first require to pass the prelim phase.

Pattern of exam for prelim:

  1. English section for 30 marks
  2. Reasoning section for 35 marks
  3. Quantitative aptitude test for 35 marks

Total marks will be for 100 marks and total time allowed will be 1 hour. There will be negative marking in the exam and no separate time will be provided for separate sections. Total combined time will be 1 hour to finish the test.

Candidates should pass sectional as well as overall cutoff for the examination. all those who will qualify prelim will be enrolled in mains. Marks obtained by candidates in prelim will not be considered for selection and it is only for qualifying purpose.

IBPS clerk Mains exam pattern:

There will be 5 sections in the exam as under:

  1. English section for 40 marks
  2. Reasoning section for 50 marks
  3. Quantitative aptitude test for 50 marks
  4. Computer awareness for 20 marks
  5. General awareness for 40 marks

Total test will be for 200 marks and total time will be 2 hours. Candidates will be required to pass in each of the test separately and after this they will be called for joining process. Candidates have to pass each of the sections in the examination with their overall cutoff. Cutoff marks for prelim and mains exam will be different for different categories.

Some of the sections like English and Quantitative awareness will need special attention and you will be required to focus more on these. Here are some of the tips especially for English section and Quantitative section in the exam.

English section:

  1. Pay attention to grammar and correct form of verbs etc
  2. Learn how to use Preposition, verb, noun, pronoun, sentence formation etc
  3. Practise last year papers to understand it and prepare well for this section
  4. Improve3 your vocabulary by learning new words

Quantitative awareness section:

  1. Focus on Data interpretation especially the line diagram, bar graph and pie charts
  2. Solving good DI will fetch you around 15 marks in the examination
  3. Focus more on time and distances, age relation issues, DI, CI and SI, boat and stream related questions, Plane geometry and solid figures. 1-2 questions can also be asked from the probability
  4. Candidates prepare for this much can surely obtain good marks in math section
  5. Focus on previous year question paper and solve papers to understand the pattern of the exam and the new changed if any introduced in the examination.

General awareness preparation should contain both general awareness and current affairs. Banking knowledge related questions are also asked in the examination.

Computer awareness will be one of the easiest sections and candidates can secure good marks in the exam if they understand the basics working and functionality of the computer.

The first exam will be prelim and all those preparing for the exam will be required to qualify prelim first. All those who could not qualify prelim will not be called for mains examination. So first we have to qualify prelim test. Here are some of the tips which you can know to qualify the prelim examination.

  1. Allot separate time for each of the 3 sections
  2. Try to solve at least 20 questions from each of the sections
  3. You can allocate time for each section as per your preparation. If you are weak at English section, you can preserve more time for English section.
  4. Qualify each section and pass the examination.
  5. Take care of the negative marking. It can affect your performance as well as your marks in the exam.
  6. First choose the easy questions which you have practiced and after that you have to come to the more difficult level of questions.

Tips to qualify IBPS Clerk mains exam 2019

This will be very important phase. All 100% of the selection chances are dependent on this test only as it will contribute 100% to the selection process. There is no other phase. So each mark obtained in this test will be important for candidates. However you should not take tension and prepare as per your way of preparation only.

Here are some of the tips which you can know and you can perform well at the examination.

  1. Please check the notification online. If the time slot is already allocated for each section then you have to fit your sectional time for each of these sections in the examination.
  2. Take care of the negative marking. You have to take care of negative marking both in prelim and mains examination. it can affect your performance in the examination and your chances of selection
  3. The next thing will be time management. You have to allocate time for each of the sections and you have to pass each of the section. If you perform well at overall exam but fail at any other sections then you will not be considered for the selection process.
  4. Accuracy: this will be very important in the exam. Higher accuracy in the examination will give you more chances of selection in the exam
  5. Practice papers: Practice papers will contribute to the selection process. This will enhance your performance in the exam as well as your practice and you will be able to perform at the examination
  6. The last but not the least, Stay calm. Do not take tension during the examination. if you will be more serious. Your performance will be likely to degrade in the examination.
  7. Solve previous year question paper. This will enhance your question paper practice and preparation and after this you can obtain good marks in overall examination.
