NICL AO preparation tips 2017.National Insurance company limited had earlier released a notification for the recruitment of AO through generalist vacancy and a lot of candidates had applied for it. Now all of them have been looking for the tips to prepare for the written tests and interviews which is very important. All those candidates who have applied successfully for the posts will be called for written test where the written exam will be conducted in two phase prelim and mains. After the mains examination personal interview will be conducted which will be the last phase. Candidates should start their preparation in right way and the hard work alone is not sufficient to crack the examination. NICL AO- how to prepare for written exam
NICL will hold online written test for the post of AO. First it will conduct written prelim exam which will be followed by the mains examination. prelim exam will be qualifying in nature and there will be 100 questions. The pattern of prelim exam will be the same as that of IBPS PO where there will be 3 sections and candidates have to qualify each section separately. Based on their performance in prelim test, candidates will next be called for mains exam.
Prelim exam pattern 2017
Prelim exam will be conducted online and there will be 3 sections. Time allowed will be 1 hour and total marks will be 100. Negative marking will be there and 0.25 mark will be deducted for the wrong answers. Candidates must be careful of the same. There will be 3 sections.
- English test for 30 marks
- Reasoning test for 35 marks
- Quantitative aptitude test for 35 marks
NICL AO mains exam pattern:
Let us come to the Mains exam pattern. Mains exam will be conducted online on computer. There will be objective as well as descriptive paper. All those who will pass the objective tests will be evaluated for the descriptive paper. Objective test will be for 200 marks and descriptive test will be for 50 marks. Candidates marks in both the tests will be considered for final selection. Also there will be a single time slot to appear for both objective and descriptive paper. There will be 5 sections in the exam as under:
- English test for 40 marks
- Reasoning test for 50 marks
- Quantitative aptitude test for 50 marks
- General awareness for 40 marks
- Computer awareness test for 20 marks

Simple questions related to working of computer, software and hardware of computer, generations of computer, Operating systems will be asked in the exam.
Tips to prepare for NICL AO examination 2017
- Time management
All those who are at home should mange time well for the preparation. if you are weak at one of the sections, allocate the time accordingly for the preparation. Those who are working and still preparing for the exam, must see what is the convenient timings as per their job profile and they can allocate time to prepare for each section.
- Maintain accuracy in the exam
This is very important as the number of correct answers done by the candidates have increased much and you must also try to maintain high accuracy in the examination.
- Maintain speed in the exam
This is another important factor which candidates need to follow. More and more number of questions are being solved by the candidates and so cutoff is high. Try to solve maximum number of questions in short time
- Read the question twice in the exam
Many times it happens that you do not read long questions but it is easier to solve those questions in comparison to other short questions.
- Practice model test papers
Model test papers are based on the latest pattern of the exam and so candidates should solve these papers to increase their speed and also to prepare in right direction
