Now the exam is going to be conducted from the next week and this will be good for candidates if they prepare well for the examination. This is prelim phase meant for qualifying purpose but candidates should not take it lightly as good performance will keep them closer to the success. Candidates who are preparing well for the examination will have to prepare well for the test and they will be called very soon for the mains exam based on their performance in prelim. Here some tips for prelim exam has been given to help candidates during the exam.
IBPS PO prelim- how to prepare well
IBPS PO will conduct prelim exam as the first phase of selection process. This is merely to choose candidates for next phase and marks secured in this section will not be counted. For this reason, candidates should not be frightened with this section. Also they should not take the section lightly as the same sections will be asked in mains examination. Their good preparation will keep them closer to the mains exam and interview process. Here are some of the details which candidates need to know for each section. Pattern of the exam for prelim remains the same as given under
- English language for 30 marks
- Reasoning section for 35 marks
- Quantitative aptitude for 35 marks
Total marks will be 100 and total time will be 1 hour. There will be negative marking for 0.25 marks and each correct answer will fetch candidates 1 mark.
This is one of the very important sections in the exam included to test the English aptitude and understanding of the language and this is very crucial. Candidates will be required to perform better at this section. It will contain 30 marks. Some of the tips for this section are as under
- Try to fist secure the minimum passing marks in this section. Sectional cutoff will not be very high but sometimes it may be around 10 marks and candidates should at least try to score 10 marks first
- They should solve those questions in which they are sure and practiced hard. They should leave all other questions for later
- Read the questions carefully before you start answer
- If the time for passage is not left then candidates can focus on antonyms and synonyms given in the passage only
This is one of those section which proves to be scoring if asked easy. In prelim the complexity is not much and this is something around easy to moderate in nature. Candidates can score good marks as they find it most interesting section in the exam. They can leave the sitting arrangement like questions if they find it hard.
The area of focus should be
- Blood relations
- Coding – Decoding
- Linear Inequality
- Data Sufficiency
First and after this they should solve all other type of questions.
Candidates who are going to appear in the exam will find this important section. It will contain 35 marks and proves scoring for mathematics lovers. General questions will be asked and mainly all of the questions will be concentrated around the popular practical questions upto class 10 standard. Candidates can read the questions carefully then they should decide what questions they should solve first. They can allocate 30 minutes of time for this section.
Candidates can focus on below topics from where questions are asked
Data Interpretation (Tabular, Line Graph, Bar graph, etc)
Try to focus on the Data Interpretation topic more as at least 2 sets of the same can be expected in the exam.
